Happy Sunday Everyone!
I’m enjoying this Sunday afternoon by relaxing and watching some Beverly Hills 90210 (the original one, of course)! 🙂
This morning, I was in a rush to get ready for church. I woke up late so I didn’t have time to put on a full face of makeup, so I opted to just wear my UD Lipgloss. I figured that today will be the day I write a review about it, so here we go!
I saw this lipgloss raved about on TheHunt.com so I originally asked for a small sample of it on one of my visits to Sephora. My first thought upon sampling it was “Oh…I don’t love this as much as my Buxom Full Bodied Lip Gloss.” But the second time I tried it, I thought “I do like the color of it though…”
So the next time I visited Sephora, I bought it in the color Lovechild. It was $24CAD plus tax. As I was walking away from Sephora, I thought “Why did I spend almost $30 on a lipgloss?!” But hey, I wanted to treat myself to a luxury lipgloss.
Here’s what Sephora has to say about the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss:
In a clinical study of 30 participants who used Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss:
– 86% of participants had a significant improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles
– 76% had a significant improvement in volume and hydration
– 86% said their lips felt nourished.
This lipgloss DOES go on very nice. It doesn’t feel sticky, it doesn’t have any funky smell to it and it’s not sparkly. I haven’t really noticed much of a difference in the volume/plumpness of my lips but then again, I haven’t really been looking for it.
Here’s a swatch of it:
My lips DO feel nourished and hydrated. Keep in mind though that I have also been using Blistex too. But I’d say this gloss is definitely nourishing and hydrating. My lips feel a lot smoother.
My favourite thing about this lipgloss is the colour — it looks VERY natural and pretty. It’s not sparkly and obvious like other lipglosses; it’s subtle and gorgeous. Today when I wore this lipgloss, it lasted about two hours (which didn’t include eating/drinking). I also LOVE the packaging — hello classy!
Taking into consideration the price, the packaging, the look of the gloss on, and the hydration of the lipgloss, I’d rate this a 3.5. Honestly, I do like the gloss but there’s nothing that is so outstanding about it that I would spend $30 on it again. There are lipglosses that do the trick as well as this does for a lot cheaper. If this lipgloss was $10 though, I would definitely repurchase.
It’s up to you if you think the colour, the hydration, and the packing are worth the big bucks it costs …
but as for whether I would Love it or Leave it, I would LEAVE IT.
Have you tried this lipgloss before? What did you think?
Do you have any alternatives that you prefer?
